Suspense is a feeling of uncertainty and anxiety about the outcome of certain actions. Alfred Hitchcock is a prime example, where he used stuffed props, camera and sound to emphasise suspence. Suspence is key in media contexts as it helps reel in consumers and in most cases leaving them question what is going to happen. This is also done through the use of cliffhanger. Suspence is also explained as a feeling of growing tension and excitement.
