match cut prelim

In todays lesson, we edited our preliminary match cut which consisted of me going to a room and exchanging a few lines of dialogue with another character. we showed our understanding of the 180 degree rule by keeping the camera on one side of the 2 characters and we also included match cutting which was done by me opening the door. Also we did a shot reverse shot of the conversation.

There were a couple of problems that occurred during our filming. One of the problems was the match-cut. When filming the match-cut there was an odd shot when the camera was paused for the main match-cut. The shot was misplaced as I moved out of position for the next shot. Another problem was the shot reverse shot. The shot reverse shot was meant to be throughout the whole discussion with the two characters. But we only did this for two shots and made the rest of the discussion a mid shot of both of the characters talking.

Recognising these mistakes makes it easier for me to improve my work for the next time I do filming.
